Abstract

The current study aimed to identify the level of methods of coping with psychological stress, future anxiety, and quality of life among amputees in the governorates of Gaza, and knowing the statistically significant relationship between the methods of coping with psychological stress, future anxiety and quality of life among amputees, it also aimed to reveal the statistically significant differences between the average scores of amputations on the scale of all methods of coping with psychological stress, future anxiety and quality of life due to the following variables: (age, marital status, educational level, place of amputation). The study sample consisted of (200) cases of amputation in the governorates of Gaza, and tools were used to collect information, which are: the scale of methods of coping with psychological stress, and the scale of future anxiety: Prepared by the researcher, and the quality of life measure prepared by HajarKhashan (2019), the results of the study concluded that the arithmetic mean of each of the strategies for coping with psychological stress among amputees in the governorates of Gaza was between 3.308-4.276, with a radio weight ranging between 66.2%-85.5%, The level of future anxiety among amputees in the governorates of Gaza was moderate according to the study test, with a relative weight of (65.9%), and the level of quality of life among amputees in the governorates of Gaza was very high according to the study test, with a relative weight of (86.9%) , In addition to the existence of an inverse relationship with a statistical significance at the significance level of 0.05 between future anxiety and strategies for coping with psychological stress among amputees in the governorates of Gaza. There is a direct statistically significant relationship at the significance level of 0.05, quality of life and strategies for coping with psychological stress among amputees in the governorates of Gaza. Also, there are no statistically significant differences in the methods of coping with psychological pressures due to age, except for the strategy of inappropriate behavioral habits and the strategy of avoidance and ignoring, and there are no statistically significant differences in the methods of coping with psychological pressures due to the social status, except for the strategy of inappropriate behavioral habits. There are statistically significant differences due to the social status, in addition to the absence of statistically significant differences in the methods of coping with psychological stresses attributed to education, with the exception of the social support strategy. As it turns out there are significant differences of statistical methods in the face of psychological stress due to the place of amputation except for problem-solving strategy and social support, the absence of significant statistical differences in the mean scores of cases of amputation in the provinces of Gaza on a scale of concern the future due the following (age variables, marital status, place of amputation) excluding education. Finally, and there were no statistically significant differences in the average degrees of amputation cases in the governorates of Gaza on the quality-of-life scale due to the following variables (social status, educational level) with the exception of age and place of amputation.
