Abstract
The study aimed to clarify emotional regulation as a mediating variable in professional relationships and psychological empowerment among nurses in hospitals in the southern governorates in Palestine. Occupational pressures, and psychological empowerment of nurses in the reception department in hospitals in the southern governorates, according to the following demographic variables: (gender, marital status, educational qualification, years of experience).The study sample consisted of (251) male and female nurses in the reception department in hospitals in the southern governorates. the researcher used the following tools: the emotional regulation scale (Gross, & John, 2003), the professional stress scale prepared by: the researcher, and the psychological empowerment scale: Originally prepared by Spreiter (Spreiter, 1995) The study reached the following results6 3.The level of occupational stress among nurses in the hospitals of the southern governorates in Palestine was high and came with a relative weight of 81.8% 4.The level of emotional regulation among nurses in the hospitals of the southern governorates in Palestine was high and came with a relative weight of 77.9% 5.The level of psychological empowerment of nurses in hospitals in the southern governorates in Palestine was very high and came with a relative weight of 86.4%. 6.Emotional regulation was considered a partial mediating variable between occupational stress and psychological empowerment among nurses in hospitals in the southern governorates in Palestine. 7.There were no differences in the average occupational stress among nurses in hospitals in the southern governorates in Palestine due to the following variables (gender, educational qualification, years of experience), while there are differences in the average occupational stress among nurses in hospitals in the southern governorates in Palestine due to social status and differences in favor of married people. 8.There were no differences in the average emotional regulation of nurses in hospitals in the southern governorates in Palestine due to the following variables (gender, marital status, educational qualification, years of experience.( 7.There were no differences in the average psychological empowerment of nurses in hospitals in the southern governorates in Palestine due to the following variables (gender, marital status, educational qualification, years of experience).
