Abstract
Abstract The study aimed to identify the reality content of the Arabic language curriculum in the fifth and sixth grades of the elementary stage from traditional perspective, The researcher used the descriptive method using content analysis. The study sample consisted of (4) books for the Arabic language in the elementary stage with two parts for each stage. A list of criteria was prepared in three areas: religious, literary, and folklore traditions. The study found that the Arabic language curriculum in the fifth grade includes (98) traditions by (47.57%) As follows: (12) religious tradition by (12.24%), (57) literary tradition by (58.16%), (29) folklore tradition by (29.59%), it was also found that the Arabic language curriculum in the sixth grade includes (108) tradition by (52.43%), as follows: (19) religious tradition by (17.59%), (75) literary tradition by (69.44%), (14) folklore tradition by (52.43%). It was also concluded that the curriculum lacked the following literary traditions: Thoughts, Sermons, Message, Aphorisms, Maqama, Debate, Plays. Folklore was lacked the following: Folk dancing, folk proverbs, puzzles, jokes and narrations, expressions and gossip, dramas, and recitations. In the light of the previous findings, the researcher recommends that the Ministry of Education should pay attention to the traditions in general, and work on the balance and integration between them in the Arabic language books in the fifth and sixth grades, and make a guide for these traditions which enables the teacher to use it side by side with curriculum book
