Abstract

The aim of this study is to verify the effectiveness of the orientation program for developing social skills and its impact in reducing intolerance. The study sample consisted of 30 female high school students from Deir al Balah governorate which was selected non-randomly and was divided equally into the experimental group and the control group. The researcher designed the research tools, which are the orientation program and the intolerance scale. The results of the study showed that there are statistically significant differences between the experimental group and the control group in favor of the experimental group on the scale of intolerance. In addition, there were statistically significant differences in the pre- and post measurements of the experimental group on the scale of intolerance in favor of the post-measurement. The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences in both the post and follow-up measurements of the experimental group on the scale of intolerance
