Abstract
The study aimed at finding out the effect of a program based on literature circles strategy on developing literary appreciation skills of the 11th female graders in Gaza Strip. The researcher used the quasi-experimental methodology. To achieve the objectives of the study, the study materials and instruments were prepared and they consisted of a checklist of (11) skills of literary appreciation, a teacher which was used to teach the program based on literature circles strategy and also preparing of a test of literary appreciation skills which consisted of (50) paragraph applied to a sample of (70) students distributed equally on the first two groups studied in the traditional instruction, and the second experimental one taught using the current program in the second semester of the academic year (2018/2019). The results of the study showed that there was a statistically significant difference at the level of (α = 0.05) between the mean scores of the students of the experimental and control groups in the post application of the test of literary appreciation skills in favor of the experimental group.
