Abstract

The study aimed to identify the relationship between self-awareness, and professional adjustment among private school teachers in Gaza governorates. To achieve the objectives of the study the researcher used the self-awareness scale prepared byAbu Ghali (2016), and the scale of professional adjustment prepared by the current researcher. The study sample consisted of (105) male and female teachers . And the results showed that the most common area of the self-awareness scale is the area of self-evaluation with a relative as high as (87.8%) followed by the area of ideas perceptions, awareness of others, disclosure of feelings, guiding behavior respectively. Besides, the study showed that the most common area of professional adjustment scale is social relations with the students reaching a relative weight of (89.2%), followed by social relationships with colleagues, promotion, and self-acceptance. The study found no statistically significant differences between the areas of self-awareness scale and the total score, and showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the measure of self-awareness, and professional adjustment scale due to gender, educationalqualification, experience, and educational stage.
