Abstract

On the light of the improvement of human rights, which have been developed to include people with special needs, as people with important roles in their societies, disabled people should have access to all places and get their civil rights in the society, and take the same privileges as others. Thus specialists should have their responsibilities to adapt science and technology to provide the required adjustments to conform the built environment (both indoor and outdoor) to meet their special needs. This will enable this sector of society to carry out their daily activities with independency and dignity. Therefore, architects can play a major role in adapting building design and structures to be more suitable for all type of users, ordinary and disabled. In this research, the author will highlight the issue of financial cost of parts of buildings, which should be modified to suit people with special needs in order to explain the variation between such buildings in comparison with conventional ones from the financial point of view
