Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between birth order and the two personality dimensions (Extraversion – Introversion) and (Stable – Unstable), and academic achievement. The sample in the present study consisted of (182) secondary students categories into: (44) first born, (82) middle born, (33) last born, and (23) alone child. Results indicated the following 1. There were no significant differences between students score on personality dimension (Extraversion – Introversion) due to their birth order. 2. There were significant differences between students score on personality dimension (Stable – Unstable) due to their birth order, in favor of the middle born students were found to be more stable, while the last born students were found to be more unstable. 3. There were significant differences between students score on academic achievement due to there birth order, in favor of the first born students.
