Abstract

يلقي هذا البحث الضوء على مشاكل القراءة الإنجليزية لطلبة المدارس والجامعات الفلسطينية في قطاع غزة. فبعد تقييم الوضع الحالي في القطاع وجمع المعلومات من خلال خبرة الباحث وإطلاعه، ومن خلال استبيان وزع على ثلاثين مدرسًا للغة الإنجليزية بالإضافة إلى جمع معلومات من دراسات لحالات معينة، قسم الباحث هذه المشاكل حسب مسبباتها إلى أربعة أقسام: -1 مشاكل متعلقة بسوء فهم عملية القراءة من جانب المدرسين والطلاب. 2- مشاكل متعلقة بضحالة المخزون اللغوي عند الطالب، وقلة ممارسته للغة الإنجليزية. 3- مشاكل متعلقة بالاختلاف ما بين اللغة الإنجليزية واللغة العربية. 4- مشاكل متعلقة بعدم التوافق ما بين النظام الكتابي واللفظي في اللغة الإنجليزية نفسها، وفي نهاية البحث وضع الباحث بعض الحلول لتطوير The Extensive Approach to قدرات القراءة الإنجليزية عند الطلبة مثل: استخدام والتعامل مع الطلبة بطريقة إنسانية. ،Reading This article sheds light on the reading problems that Palestinian school and university EFL students face. After evaluating the current situation in the Gaza Strip, and collecting data on the basis of observation, a teacher questionnaire, and case studies, I classify these problems according to their causes into four: 1. Reading problems related to the misunderstanding of the reading process. 2. Reading problems related to insufficient linguistic competence in general, and practice of reading in particular. 3. Reading problems related to differences between English and Arabic. 4. Reading problems related to the English spelling\sound system. Finally, I state some pedagogical suggestions to develop EFL reading in Gaza such as using the Extensive Approach to reading and dealing with students in a human fashion
