Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the role of the Palestinian Universities of Gaza Strip in development from solution Descriptive analytical approach is used to answer these following questions : A. What is the role of university in the education field in Gaza Strip ? B. What is the role of university in the science research field in Gaza Strip ? C. What is the role of university in the society service field in Gaza Strip ? D. Is there statistically Significant differences in universities role (Educational role, Science research role , and community service role ) for sex ( male– female) in Gaza Strip ? A sample of the study is ( 250 ) university students , (125 Male) (125 Female). Results show that the university has three roles to development are : Education, science research and community service. Education had 11 sub roles . Science research had 9 sub roles and community service 7 sub roles. Due to lack of a awareness funds and experience, the Aqua university of Gaza in particular refrain to development, and there statistically Significant differences between male and female in educational role in favor of female, and in the science research in favor of male, and there is no differences in society services between male, and female. Recommendations have been relevantly introduced: funds, encouragement could be provided to effectively implement the role assigned to Palestinian Universities .
