Abstract

تف  حص هذا البحث الأخطاء التي نتجت عن أداء 179 طالب في تخصص اللغة الانجليزية أثناء حل اختبار في قواعد اللغة الإنجليزية احتوى على 59 سؤال حول 13 مسألة نحوية ذات إشكالية، وقد بين التحليل الإحصائي وجود تطور طبيعي في أداء الطلاب في بنود القواعد التي تم اختبارها يسير جنبًا إلى جنب مع تقدم سنوات الدراسة في قسم اللغة الإنجليزية. وبالرغم من ذلك بينت الدراسة وجود فجوة عند طلبة المستوى الثالث مما يتطلب من مدرسي القواعد مراجعة قواعد الأزمنة وأدوات التعريف والمقارنات قبل البدء في التعامل مع محتويات مادة القواعد للمستوى الثالث، وقد أحرز طلبة المستوى الأول نتائج جيدة في اختبار الدراسة وقد يرجع ذلك إلى الجهد الكبير الذي بذلوه في التحضير لامتحانات الثانوية العامة، وكذلك بين التحليل الإحصائي وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين أداء الذكور والإناث لصالح الإناث، وتقدم الدراسة اقتراحات لتحسين أداء الطلاب في اللغة الإنجليزية. This paper analyzes the errors generated by 179 English major students registered in the second semester 2005 in Al-Azhar University - Gaza in a grammar test comprising 59 questions covering 13 problematic grammatical categories. The results of the statistical analysis reveal that there is a natural development in the students’ control of the grammatical items tested as the students move to the upper levels. However, it has been discovered that there is a gap at the third level, where the grammar teachers should review tenses, articles, and comparatives before they get into the contents of the grammar course. First level students have shown good results on the test due to the efforts they exerted while preparing for the high school general certificate exams. The analysis has also shown statistically significant differences between the performance of males and females in favor of the females. The paper suggests some recommendations for the improvement of the students’ performance in English grammar.
