Abstract

تفحص هذا البحث كيفية التعبير عن الأفعال "يرى"، "ينظر"، و"يشاهد" وما يناظرها من الأفعال في اللهجة الفلسطينية، وذلك للوقوف على مواطن الصعوبة التي تواجه طلبة الصف العاشر عند التحدث بالإنجليزية. وقد تم تحليل القيمة الدلالية لهذه الأفعال في اللغتين الإنجليزية واللهجة الفلسطينية، وبين التحليل الإحصائي لاستخدام هذه الأفعال بواسطة 163 عينة من الطلاب بأنهم يعانون من مشكلة التمييز بينها أثناء استخدامهم للغة الانجليزية، وأن هناك ارتباط بين الزمن الماضي والاستخدام الصحيح للفعل "يرى" وكذلك وجود ارتباط آخر بين استخدام الفعل "ينظر" وصيغة الأمر. وبينت الدراسة بأن هناك فروًقًًا ذات دلالة إحصائية ما بين أفراد العينة والمنطقة الجغرافية التي يقيمون فيها. وأكدت الدراسة حاجة طلبة الصف العاشر في كافة المناطق الى تمارين خاصة لإدراك الفوارق بين هذه الأفعال الثلاثة مع ضرورة التركيز على القيمة الدلالية والتداولية لكل فعل منها This paper deals with the description of the verbs 'see', 'look', and 'watch' and their equivalents in Palestinian Arabic to account for the difficulty the Palestinian 10th grade students have when they use them in English. The verbs have been thoroughly analyzed to examine their semantic load in both English and Palestinian Arabic. The statistical analysis of the 163 subjects' use of these verbs in English reveals that they have a problem in distinguishing among the uses of these verbs; that there is a correlation between the past tense and the correct use of the verb 'see', and between the correct use of the verb 'look' and the imperative mood; and that there are some statistically significant differences among the subjects related to different geographic locations. Also, the paper also reveals that the students in each area are in need of special exercises to detect the Arab students learning English as a foreign language (EFL) have difficulty in distinguishing the different uses of the verbs SEE, LOOK AT, and WATCH when they attempt to perform in English. The use of these verbs, in particular, often constitutes sort of confusion to Palestinian EFL learners, especially when their dialect does not distinguish between perceptual verbs and conceptual ones. Palestinian Arabic (PA), in many instances, treats the three verbs as synonyms and often uses them interchangeably as in the following examples: *1.
