Abstract

The study aimed to clarify the reality of the problem of the Syrian asylum in Jordan from 2011 to 2015, and to analyze the repercussions of the Syrian asylum on the Jordanian economy. It sought to validate the premise that "there is a correlative relationship between the waves of refugees from one country to another and between the transformations and economic, political and social challenges in countries of asylum." The study used the descriptive analytical method and the case study methodology in achieving its objectives. The Syrian asylum crisis has over shadowed Jordan in huge numbers and exceeded all its potential. It has negatively impacted Jordan's national security and in all political, security, economic and social fields. This has put pressure on the infrastructure, in addition to forcing Jordan to deploy more Jordanian armed forces on the northern border. The study recommends regulating the entry and handling of refugees by charities and non-governmental organizations through the Jordanian government and the necessity of activating Jordan's foreign policy to pressure the international community to shoulder its responsibilities to this humanitarian and international issue and to provide adequate assistance to Jordan.
