Abstract

The study aimed to explore on the role of the "Patient Protection Coalition" in Jordan in raising awareness of patient rights through its media and advertising efforts through its various platforms and communication activities. The study adopted the qualitative research approach, specifically the case study approach was used, through conducting indepth interviews with a sample of members of the coalition, as well as analyzing the content of the Authority's social networking site Facebook. The result of study showed that the communication activities of the "Patient Protection Coalition" in Jordan are: guidelines, data, workshops, events, brochures, billboards, seminars, and lectures, and they are implemented through partnerships with various media, but it shows the weakness of the partnerships made by a body The Health Coalition to Protect the Patient in Jordan with various media outlets, and it was inferred through the weakness of the media efforts and communication activities of the authority on the Authority's Facebook page, the weak interaction of the various local media with the media efforts and the communication activities of the authority, and there is no interaction by both: the visual communication media; the audio communication media, in addition to the weak interaction of the public with the media efforts and the communication activities of the authority published on the page, and with all forms of interaction; This made the role of the communication activities for "Patient Protection Coalition" in Jordan, Through media and advertising efforts by its various communication platforms and activities in informing the patient of his rights on the practical reality is weak.
