Abstract

This study aimes to define the impact of information technology capabilities on crisis management on jordanian commercial banks .In order to achieve the study purpose, the researcher developed a specific questionnaire based on recent studies on the subject of the study. The study population consisted of all individuals in supervisory and supervisory position such as, managers, heads of departments, & assistance director in (13) Jordanian commercial banks. (345) respondents which represent (70%) of the total population which is (493) including all managerial levels of the bank. The study utilized a set of statistical analysis to test the reliability of study instrument. This data was subjected to advanced statistical analysis to test the study hypotheses, and answering its questions, the study shown that there are: the existence of a positive effect statistical significance at the level )α≥7.73) of the capabilities of IT with its dimensions (IT Infrastructure Capability, IT Business Spanning Capability, and IT Proactive Stance) on the crisis management with its dimensions (discover the crisis, prepare for the crisis, contain the crisis, restore activity and balance, learning from the crisis). In light of these results, The study recommended the development of studies and research related to crisis management by opening up to various research educational and projects in different disciplines and the establishment of its scientific research centers specializing in crisis management, the good investment of information technology and the adoption of a revised telecommunication system in Information management, and to determine the best methods for public opinion on the risks and crisis management.
