Abstract

This study aims at recognizing the role of organizational structures design in improving the quality of decision making of Palestinian Police in Gaza Strip. A study sample has been formed of officers working with the Palestinian Police, who carry the pivotal functional character-is tics at working zones in Gaza Stripe. To realize the study objectives, the researcher employed questionnaire; as study instrument. A random category sample was selected that included 180 subjects. The questionnaire consisted of 58 items distributed to six clauses: - Decision –making ‌‌‌ ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌ - Strategy - Goals - Size of organization - Technology and its uses - Power and control Analytic descriptive method has been used to achieve the study objectives. The study reached a set of result, most important of which are: 1. There is a relevant statistical relationship between outlines of organizational structures design and administrative decision making at the Palestinian Police system in Gaza Strip. 2. All outlines elements effectively contribute, with approximate rates and slight differences, to the role of organizational structure in improving the quality of administrative decision-making at the Palestinian Police. 3. The study concluded that 32.5 per cent of the sample subjects indicated that the quality improvement of administrative decision-making was due to internal factors while the rest was due to external ones. The study recommended that: 1. Interest should be increased relating the application of organizational structure design outlines at the Palestinian Police, and increasing the experienced cadres. 2. Increase Police figures to go along with the development of their work; preparation of training programs; reduce centralization and responsibility concentration to overcome the problem of shortage in number. 3. Regular revision of organizational structures including all outlines of such structures in appropriation with the working reality, as well as the internal –external circumstances
