Abstract
This study aims at exploring the quality of the work life and its relation to job ethics of the employees of the ministry of public works and housing. To achieve the objectives of this study, the researcher used the descriptive analytical approach. The study population consisted of all employees of the ministry of public works and housing whose number is (162) employees. The number of respondents was (139) which represents (85.8%). (Census Method was used and the questionnaire as a main tool of the study for collecting data. The study has reached the following conclusions: 1. The dimensions of the quality of the work life are available in medium level at the ministry of public works and housing. 2. There is a positive relationship between the quality of the work life and job ethics of the employees in the ministry of public works and housing. 3. There are no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the study sample relevant to the availability of the quality of work life in relation to the variables gender, job title, and education. 4. There are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the study sample relevant to the availability of the elements of career quality in relation to age variable except (job relationships) in favor of those whose ages are less than 30 years in the field of job relationships. 5. There are no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the study sample relevant to the availability of the elements of quality of work life attributed to variable years of service (except the variable organizational commitment) in favor of those whose years of services are less than 5 years in the field of organizational commitment. 6. There are no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the study sample relevant to the availability of the job ethics in relation to the variables gender, education, and years of service. 7. The employees of the ministry of public works and housing comply with the job ethics with a percentage of (63.57%). Abstract خ Recommendations of the Study: 1. It is necessary to improve the quality level of the work life of the employees of the ministry of public works and housing through disbursing salaries regularly. 2. Employees of the ministry of public works and housing should be given the chance to participate in the process of decision making and problem solving. 3. Providing a healthy and safe job environment that is suitable to the nature of activities performed by each employee specially those working in technical workshops. 4. Strengthening the job relationships among employees of the ministry through establishing social clubs, group picnics and family visits. 5. Making a written code of conduct to be followed by all the employees of the ministry.
