Abstract
The study aimed to explore the role of management control system in the Palestinian police in Gaza Strip, and aimed to identify the role of administrative control to improve management performance. The study population consisted of (130) officers who work in the supervisory authorities' officers in the Palestinian police in Gaza Strip. The descriptive analytical method was used. Data was collected through a questionnaire especially designed for that purpose and an interview of control management leaders in the Palestinian police also used. Complete enumeration method was used. Percent of recovered questionnaires was (75.4%). Most important results of the study were: There was a positive statistically significant relationship at the level of significance (α ≤ 0.05) between the role of management control and improvement of the administrative performance level in the Palestinian police. There were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α ≤ 0.05) between the averages of respondents response on the role of management control and improvement of the administrative performance level in the Palestinian police due the following personal variables (age, military rank, qualification, years of experience). Respondents' participation in the preparation of the job description card is low with a relative weight (51.46%). Respondents look with satisfaction of personal observation style, with a relative weight (56.17%). Respondents believe with high grade that the operational budgets are not sufficiently available for carrying out their role to the fullest. Respondents believe that the employees' performance evaluation is done in a regular fair basis and moderately. Most important recommendations of the study were: The need for participation of workers in the preparation of job description card of their work, as it has a positive impact in increasing the effectiveness of their performance. Seeking to change the erroneous perception of personal observation style as one of the tools and means of control, through the correct application of this method by who are working in the control filed. Providing operational budgets for workers in the field of control to carry out their rules to the fullest. Giving more attention to periodical and consistent employees' performance evaluation and in accordance with clear and transparent standards to ensure the integrity and fairness of the results.
