Abstract

The scholar in this study tackles the meanings of prepositions and their indications in Al-Kahf Sura. This study consists of an introducation, three sections and a conclusion. In the introduction, the scholar focuses on: First: General introduction of Al-Kahf Sura and its content, reasons for naming it, reasons for descending, its grace and its content. Second: Prepositions of meaning, sections and its implications. Third: The role the prepositions do in lingual discourse. In the first section the scholar tackled: Number of prepositions, their functions and those which indicates exception. In the second section the meaning of the prepositions in Al-Kahf Sura: Mono bilateral, trilateral and quadrilateral prepositions. In the third section the scholar tackled the common provisional and noun based propositions. The study found that: 1. In the Quranic discourse there are prepositions and letters which do not convey the right meaning when they are separated from their meanings and indications. 2. Each preposition in Arabic language has its own meaning and indication and some prepositions can replace each other. 3. Al-Kahf soura is considered a valuable Source for lingual reference since it is full evidences that serve lingual studies. 4. Prepositions occupied the interest of ancient and temporary linguists which made them write books about them. Al-Kahf Sura is considered as an educational and belief school, moreover; it is full of lingual issues, meanings and indications for the propositions in general.
