Abstract

The study aimed to identify the impact of awareness of the organization's mission on the organizational citizenship behavior among workers in the public sector, and to achieve the goals of the study. The descriptive analytical approach was used to describe the subject of the study, and to find the effect among its variables, and the study population workers of the Ministry of Interior and National Security - Civil Section - The number of (638) workers where the researcher prepared the study tool (the questionnaire) and applied it on a random sample and (150) to be about (23.8%) workers responded to give their views, and the results of the study showed that all dimensions (awareness of the organization's mission) by the members of the study sample got a relative weight (76.67% ), Which is the (large) degree. This indicates that the three attributes of awareness are available to a large degree, as the dimensions (awareness of strategic values) were obtained by the individual sample of the study at a relative weight of (80.1%), and they are to a large degree, as well as all dimenision(Organizational Citizenship Bihavior) by individuals of the study sample at a relative weight (86.45%), which is a large degree. The most important recommendations are to increase the degree of continuing interest in the field of awareness of the organization’s mission by the ministry and by the workers, and to continue to hold training programs to facilitate the individual’s knowledge of the organization’s mission and to enhance their awareness of the mission of their organization, and also recommend the ministry to give more attention in motivating workers towards organizational citizenship behavior while carrying out their tasks within the organization And that contribute to enhancing the status and development of the ministry.
