Abstract

The study aimed to identify the reality of crisis management methods and managerial practices used by the Palestinian Consolidated Contractors Union in Gaza. Study Method: The researcher used the descriptive analytical method; the most appropriate approach for the study. The study population: 252 members of the Contractors Union. The study sample: The researcher used Random Sampling Method to select 30 exploratory questionnaire to test the internal consistency and stability of questionnaire. After the validity and integrity was confirmed, 150 questionnaire papers were distributed of which 130 were retained, bringing the total number of papers to 160 (88.8%). Study Findings: -There is no statistically significant differences at the level of (α ≤ 0.05) between the opinions of the respondents about the use of methods of crisis management in the Palestinian Contractors Union in due to (age or experience or region). -There were significant differences at the significance level (α ≤ 0.05) between the opinions of the respondents about the use of crisis management methods in the Palestinian Contractors Union in Gaza due to the academic qualifications for the benefit of those who have bachelor science diploma. -There is no comprehensive survey of work environment of the Union to identify the indicators of crisis. -The union is keen to work to reduce tension and restore morale at the time of crisis. -The union effectively draw lessons from the crises which can help take advantage in the future. -The union does not establish an independent budget for the crisis team to address the effects of the crisis. م Recommendations: - It is necessary to train members of the union in specialized courses about crisis management. - To conduct annual conferences about crisis management . - To provide cadres in human resources with high competence and experience to create plans on how to deal with the emerging crises. - It is necessary to provide train-the-trainers courses and programs for the union management members in the area of crisis management.
