Abstract
This study aimed to identify the reality of electronic commerce in Palestine and to know future challenges faced by, the study consisted of two sections, the first focused on the theoretical framework by identifying the concept and definition of electronic commerce, and their characteristics, and their impact on consumers, companies and economy in general, and identify the technological requirements of e-commerce, and the knowledge and readiness of Palestinian society to practice e-commerce, and to identify the legal environment for e-commerce in Palestine, and address the challenges facing e- commerce in Palestine. The second part of the study is made up of the practical framework which is made via the questionnaire to acknowledge the reality of ecommerce in Palestine and the future challenges. the study is based on a random sample contains of (330) and members of Palestinian society, (180) in the West Bank, and (150) in the Gaza Strip, the questionnaire contains more than one axis to determine the level of knowledge of e-commerce, and identify the challenges facing e-commerce, and the risks of use, the axis of the latest on the impact of e-commerce on the economy, and use statistical analysis program (spss); data analysis, and output the results. The results were based on the theoretical analysis of the study: the level of e-commerce in Palestine is modest, and at the minimum, but there are some individual experiments small projects in the area of e-commerce, einfrastructure available for e-commerce, but it needs development, ecommerce needs to increase the confidence of Palestinian society, ecommerce is facing some challenges that hinder the proliferation in Palestine, such as: the lack of electronic banking services enough, especially electronic payment tools, and non-adoption of laws and legislation that e-commerce serves and protects the dealers. The most important results on the field study: the level of knowledge of electronic commerce in the Palestinian community medium importance of comparative answers 62.4 % of the sample, as well as confidence in electronic commerce was comparative medium importance of 51.8 %. And that ecommerce faces many challenges, and have an impact on economic activity as a whole. The most important recommendations of the study: the need to work on the provision of favorable legal environment for e-commerce, as well as provide advanced technological infrastructure, and providing tools for electronic payment, and the need for the companies benefit from electronic commerce to strengthen its position in the market, and urged the Government to develop appropriate solutions to the challenges of the e-commerce.
