Abstract

The study aimed to identify the impact of simulations on the efficiency of the performance of civil defense emergency teams in Gaza Strip during crises. The researcher used the analytical and descriptive method where the questionnaire was designed as a data collection tool. The study sample consisted of (220) staff working in emergency teams and the recovery rate of the questionnairs was 90%. The researcher used SPSS program to analyze data. The study concluded that there is a strong statistically significant releationship between the simulation method carried out by the Directorate of Civil Defense and raising the efficiency of the emergency teams. The study also found that the real situation model, the mobilization of human resources, the individual skills, the teamwork and the feedback had an impact on the efficiency of the performance of civil defense emergency teams in Gaza Strip. The study proved that there is no impact of both the instructions and the means of communication on the efficiency of the performance of the emergency teams. It also turned out that the Directorate of Civil Defense is interested in providing all the requirements needed for applying the simulation method. The study recommended that it is necessary to enhance and develop the simulation method as a certfied way in providing technical, material and human support to the parties responsible for crisis and disaster management and response to start relying on simulation methodology as one of the basic means of planning and training on responding to the crises. The study also recommended conducting further studies and researches on the areas of benefiting from simulation in the work of emergency teams during crises and their impact on raising the efficiency of performance due to the lack of studies in this field, which will enhance the means of utilization as required
