Abstract

Communication is a vital issue in any health care setting. This study aims to explore the status of communication among health care providers who are working at the directorate of military services in gaza governorates. A descriptive analytical design was used. The study population is comprised of all health care providers who were working in the Directorate of military medical services in Gaza governorates(547). A stratified random sample was used comprised of (260)subjects were chosen according to their specialties. Self administered questionnaire was distributed to all the study sample. The response rate was 88.9%(231)subject. The Spss package was used in the analysis of the collected data. The main findings revealed that the most commonly preferred method of communication among the health team were(face to face) (%75.2.) Also the findings showed that the most barriers to communication were lacking of the effective communication system and weak efficiency of existing communication tools (%78.30). In addition, results showed that statistical significant relationship between verbal communication and the barriers to communication and statistical significant relationship between tools of communication system and the communication barriers among health team. The study recommends improving communications among health care providers working at the directorate of military services through provision of training programs on communication skills and enhancement of communication infrastructure.
