Abstract

This study aimed at identifying the reality of intellectual capital management in private Palestinian universities of Gaza which was forming the study population (University of Palestine, Gaza University and Palestine polytechnic).That was achieved through identifying the extent of the availability of intellectual capital components and its dimensions represented in (human dimension, intellectual dimension, structural dimension and customer's dimension). The study used questionnaire as a survey tool to achieve its objectives. The researcher collected only (170) questionnaires, which represent (68%) of the study that consists of (250) administrators and academics at the private Palestinian universities). A descriptive analytical methodology was followed to achieve the research objectives. The results of the study show that the relative arithmetic average of sample response toward the intellectual capital management in private Palestinian universities was (75.91%) ,while the results of the intellectual capital management dimensions were as follows: - The ratio of Palestinian universities interest in "human capital" management is (73.70%). The ratio of Palestinian universities interest in "intellectual assets" management is (73.62%). The ratio of Palestinian universities interest in "structural assets" management is (75.90%). The ratio of Palestinian universities interest in "Customer- relations" management is (80.07%). - There are no significant differences in the responses of respondents towards the reality of intellectual capital managements in Palestinian universities in Gaza Strip according to the following variables: (gender, age, educational attainment, the number of years of service).There were differences according to university was variable for Palestine Polytechnic university in the management of the human capital and for the University of Palestine in managing customer relations. The researcher summarizes the most important recommendations as follows: -The university administration should encourages its employees and students to be in contact with scientific research through providing scientific awards to them. - The necessity to develop the employee's skills and abilities through the continuity of training and development.
