Abstract

This study aims to identify the role of Palestine Military Academy in developing leadership skills (Preparation and training skill, Appreciation and Motivation skill, Planning skill, The Relations between leaders and Subordinates skill, Problem Solving and Decision Making skill, Affecting and Influencing Others skill, and Innovation skill) The researcher depended on the descriptive analytical approach, and the questionnaire was used as a study tool. The researcher depended on SPSS for testing respondents' answers to study questions. The researcher targeted all students and graduates of Palestine Military Academy as a study population (320) and a random sample have been selected (176) from study population, which has 56% from the study population. However, (174) questionnaires have been recovered from the distributed. The most important research results: The role of Palestine Military Academy in developing leadership skills has an overall relative weight of (80.714). The “Preparation and Training skill” has a relative weight of (83.516), while the second rating was for "Appreciation and Motivation Skill" with (83.099). The third rating was for “Planning skill” with relative weight of (82.612). The forth rating was for "The Relations between Leaders and Subordinators Skill" with relative weight of (80.024). The fifth rating was for "Problem solving and Decision Making Skill" which weighted (79.901). The sixth rating was for "Affecting and Influencing Others skill" and has weight of (79.634). The seventh and the least weight was for "Innovation skill" which had a relative weigh of (79.111) . In addition to that, there is no statistical differences at significance level of (α=.05) in the average estimates of Palestine Military Academy in developing leadership skills based on the following variables (leadership level, experience years, age, educational qualification, work nature). The study recommended the following:- •Focus on students' ability to assist in the conclusion of the self-learning skill development. •The importance of training the students on the ways of generating the enthusiasm of others and influence them. •Developing the planning skills of the senior leaders. •Training students on how to use appropriate means of communication for the transfer of ideas. • The importance of teaching the students coping with the modem standards when developing the alternatives for decision making. •Training students on using the body language for influencing others. • The importance on promoting the innovation and creativity skills.
