Abstract

This study aims to identify the role of financing micro project offered by nongovernmental organizations in the Gaza Strip in economic development from the point of view of non-governmental organizations' staff, as well as to identify constraints that prevent non-governmental organizations from achieving economic development through the funding of small projects. The study used descriptive analytical approach, comprehensive inventory method used to ensure that the results represent the total number of members of the study population (110) individuals, and used the questionnaire as a tool for data collection, where it was distributed to the study population (100%) Recovery rate (90%). Study finds several results, most important of which include: small micro projects contribute to tipping, problem analysis, and study of future prospects. It does not seek to provide creative solutions through utilization of recycled raw materials, as well as the micro projects contribute to creating new jobs, and it doesn't help to reach a large number of unemployed people to work in addition to that the Israeli attacks negatively affect economic projects, especially small enterprises, and the weak leadership of entrepreneurs features lead to project failure and collapse. The study came up with a number of recommendations, most notably at the governmental level the need to find new outlets to reduce the impact of the Israeli measures on the business environment in the Palestinian territories, particularly in the area of providing raw materials and marketing as well as the development of the legal and legislative environment that serve small businesses, As to the non-governmental organizations, the need to apply one of the methods of Islamic financing in a way that commensurate with the economic situation of individuals and give them a sense of security and confidence in the institution, in addition to small business training on modern management systems of projects at the level of individual entrepreneurs, it is best to choose a project based on the experience gained and the economic status and fulfillment of the needs of the local community, and finally at the level of funders nongovernmental organizations, it is essential that the funding is directed towards sustainable economic development and not to finance temporary relief — despite its importance-that can be of a real benefit to all segments of Palestinian society.
