Abstract

This study aims at recognizing the reality of application of good governance in NonGovernmental Organizations in Gaza governorates. In order to achieve this, the researcher uses descriptive analytical approach. Questionnaires were distributed to different people of several job titles of the following:(Director-General, Deputy Director, Executive Director, Program Manager, Project Manager, Head of the Department). The population of the study is (863) and the sample is (100) organizations from the population. The study concludes some important results. One of the most important findings of the study was that the standards of good governance are applied with (74.64%) of the Palestinian Non-Governmental Organizations. There is statistical difference at (0.05) when applying the standards of good governance in Palestinian Non-Governmental Organizations in Gaza governorates. This is attributed to the personal variables. The study reveals that there are some difficulties that face the Palestinian NonGovernmental Organizations in the application of the standards of good governance in Gaza governorates with (63.32%). Some of those difficulties are: rarity of resources, weakness of specialized programs in the field of good governance and refusal of chance in general. The study presents some recommendations. One of the most important recommendations is that a knowledgeable Palestinian society is to be established. It should adopt the standards of good governance so that they could be an approach to be adopted by the Palestinian organizations in general and the non-governmental originations in particular. This can be achieved through conducting various activities and programs that aim at spreading the standards of good governance and fighting corruption through a real will that turns words into actions. It should also adopt transparency, integrity and accountability through an effective society that is committed to fair modern laws and independent effective monitoring bodies. The success stories of different successful experiences of other international and non-governmental organizations in applying the standards of good governance are to be viewed. More studies and researche are to be implemented in the field of reform in particular, and recommendations should be considered as well.
