Abstract

The current aimed at identifying level of psychological barriers, mental resiliency and openness to experience among divorced women at Khanyounis Governorates; also to recognize the relationship between psychological barriers and both of mental resiliency and openness to experience; in addition to detect differences in the level of psychological barriers between divorced women who are low and high in both of psychological resiliency and openness to experience; added to that the current study aims at identifying differences in level of psychological barriers and mental resiliency in relation to variables of educational level، occupational level، number of children and women age. Descriptive design was used in this study since it is appropriate to study objectives and its hypothesis. Study sample consisted of (255) divorced women in Khanyounis Governorate، and the researcher used the following tools:  Psychological barriers questionnaire which prepared by: Zeenab Mahmoud Abu Shqeer.  Mental resiliency questionnaire which prepared by the researcher.  Openness to experience questionnaire which prepared by Abed-Allah Saleh Rweetae. Study results shows that psychological barriers level (60.2%), mental resiliency level (65.1%), and openness to experience level (67.6%). The study results show that there are a negative relationship between dimensions both of psychological barrier and mental resiliency questionnaires among study sample، except not statistically significant negative relationship between total score of psychological barrier questionnaire and some dimensions of mental resiliency represented in realism، planning and automatic resiliency. Results also showed no relationship between both of rumor and non-acceptance dimensions and total score of openness to experience questionnaire. On the other hand there is negative relationship between both of tension and emotion dimensions and total score of Psychological barriers questionnaire openness to experience questionnaire. Results also appeared no differences between mean scores of psychological barriers and mean scores of divorced women who had low and high mental resiliency. Results also revealed presence of differences between mean scores of psychological barriers and mean scores of divorced women who had low and high openness to experience for divorced women who are low in openness to experience. Results also showed no differences in both dimensions of rumor and non-acceptance and total score of Psychological barriers according to age variable; whereas there are differences both dimensions of tension and emotion according to age variables for age group less than twenty years. Results also indicated no differences between fields of psychological barriers and the total scores according to variable of number of children. Results also mentioned presence of differences in the dimension of rumor and the total score of psychological barriers according to variable of educational level; whereas there are differences in both fields of non-acceptance and tension according to educational level for basic and secondary education. Results also showed presence of differences in the dimension of rumor according to variable of occupational level for non-working divorced women; whereas there are no differences in both dimensions of non-acceptance and tension and total level of questionnaire
