The basic research sample consisted of (700) male and female students, who were chosen by stratified random method from the faculties of mosul university for the academic year (2020-2021), distributed among (8) faculties, (4) scientific faculties and (4) humanities faculties, To achieve the objectives of the research, the researcher applied two tools: the self-efficacy scale (prepared by the researcher), It is in its final form of (45) paragraphs, and the scale of methods of coping with psychological stress (prepared by the researcher), and it is in its final form of (49) paragraphs the validity of the two scales was verified by adopting the apparent, subjective and constructivist validity, and the researcher relied on the ratio (80%) as a percentage of agreement on the apparent validity, The discriminatory power of the two scale items was calculated, As for the stability, it was calculated in two ways: the retest method, the internal consistency method using the alpha-cronbach equation, the statistical methods used in data analysis are (pearson correlation coefficient, t-test for one sample, t-test for two independent samples, t-test for significance of the correlation coefficient, alpha-cronbach equation, z-test for difference between the two correlation coefficients, weight percentile). B The researcher reached the following results: 1. Students in the research sample possess an appropriate level of self-efficacy. 2. There are no statistically significant differences in the level of self-efficacy according to the gender variable and the academic stage. 3. University students frequently use positive reinterpretation. 4. There is no statistically significant correlation between self-efficacy and any method of coping with psychological stress. Second: recommendations 1. Designing guidance and training programs to develop a sense of self-efficacy among university students, especially male and female studentsin scientific disciplines, because the results showed that their self-efficacy is low. C 2. Attention to the development of curricula and teaching methods to suit the rapid changes in concepts to create flexible personalities capable of facing various pressures. Third: suggestions 1.
