Abstract
Enjoy the authentic people have ability to access to accept and act on their inner states, emotions, and thoughts, even if they conflict with external influences. Psychological theories assume that doing so will lead to good levels of psychological well-being. In psychology counseling , authenticity is seen as the essential aspect of well-being, as it is not just a component or a prerequisite for achieving well-being but the essence of well-being , Psychological well-being is a dynamic multidimensional process rather than a separate end state, involving a wide range of human potential: intellectual, social, emotional and physical. The curent research aimed to identify :- 1- The authentic personality for the educational counselors. 2- The significance of the differences in the authentic personality of the educational counselors according to the two variables (gender and length of service). 3- The psychological well-being and for the educational counselors. 4- The significance of the differences in the psychological well-being of the educational counselors according to the two variables (gender and length of service). 5- Correlational relationship between the authentic personality in psychological well-being of the educational counselors according to the two variables (gender, length of service). 6- The significance of the differences in the relationship between the authentic personality and psychological well-being of the educational counselors according to the two variables (gender, length of service). 7- The extent to which the authentic personality contributes to the overall variation in the psychological well-being of the educational counselors. In order to achieve this, the researcher has adopted the scale (Authentic Personality) prepared by Wood and his colleagues (Wood et al, 2008), and the researcher has also adopted the six factors scale of psychological well-being prepared by Reeve (Ryff, 1989). After the researcher verified the psychometric characteristics of the two scales, the researcher applied the two scales electronically to the research sample, which amounted to (400) male and female counselors, with (185) male and female counsellors (215), who were randomly selected from the six districts in Baghdad Karkh governorate (first, second, third). Rusafa (first, second, third) C The data were analyzed using the statistical package of Social Sciences (SPSS) and the results showed: 1- The educational counselors in Baghdad governorate for the six directorates have the authentic personality trait 2- The educational counselors in Baghdad governorate for the six directorates enjoy high levels of psychological well-being 3- There is a positive correlation between the authentic personality and the psychological well-being of the educational counselors. 4- The results did not show a discrepancy in terms of the differences in the relationship between the authentic personality and psychological well-being according to the variables of sex and length of service for educational counselors in the province of Baghdad for the six directorates.. 5- The authentic personality contributes to predicting psychological well-being, as the authentic personality variable (54.5%) of the psychological well-being variable was explained. In light of the search results was to identify a set of conclusions and recommendations and proposals . Among the recommendations: - The researcher recommends the Ministry of Education and the officials in the Educational Guidance Department, to provide the material and moral capabilities and the necessary needs for the work of the educational counselor and the success of the guiding process, such as: the presence of a room for the educational counselor, a movie display, furniture, …..etc. - The necessity of providing real support and effective support to educational counselors from the school administration and the administrative and scientific bodies in the Ministry of Education Among the proposals: - Studying the authentic personality with other variables such as (self-esteem, subjective well-being, the big five personality traits, life satisfaction, mental alertness, and happiness). - Building a counseling program to develop the psychological well-being of individuals across different age stages
