Abstract
یعد السلوك الاجتماعي شكلا من أشكال السلوك الذي یتعلمه الفرد عن طریق مختلف المؤسسات الاجتماعیة التي ینتمي إلیها ، إذ أنها تبین مدى قوة أفراد المجتمع الواحد وتماسكهم وانسجامهم ، وتفصح عن سبل التودد والتعاون والإیثار الناتجة عن التفاعلات الاجتماعیة التي تحدث في ضوء العلاقات التي تربط بین أفراد المجتمع ، كما أنها تعبیر واضح عن مدى التزام الأفراد بالقیم والأنظمة والمعاییر الخلقیة للجماعة Social behaviour is regarded as on e of the forms of behaviour learnt by individual through many of the social establishments belonging to, so the extent of firmness, cohesion and consistency of the one society individuals and reveals methods of friendship, cooperation and altruism due to social interactions occurring in the light of the relationships which connect individuals of the society. Also, it is the clear expression of the extent of the obligation of the individuals to values, systems and ethic standards of the group. The present work aims at: 1. Measuring of the social behaviour level by the Mosul University Students. 2. Knowing the relationship of the social behaviour with selfconsciousness. 3. Knowing the relationship of social behaviour with self-security. 4. Knowing the relationship of social behaviour with gender (malefemale). 5. Knowing the relationship of social behaviour with study specialization (Scientific – Humanitarian). In order to achieve the goals of the research, the specimen included 780 students (387 males) and (393 females) distributed in colleges of science, computer sciences, mathematics, education and arts. The research used the following research tools: 1. Scale of social behaviour prepared by Shuwan (1998) distributed on students in Iraqi Universities. 2. Self-consciousness scale by Buss modified by Al-Ne’imi (1999) on Iraq. ٢ 3. Maslow test for self-security – insecurity translated into Arabic by Dwani & Dirani (1983). The researcher tested the validity of the social behaviour through finding the apparent validity (83.3%) according to the opinion of the experts, while the reliability was calculated using retesting method (0.85). Also, reliability was calculated using the variance analysis which was (0.83). In addition, the researcher checked the validity of selfconsciousness scale and self-security through finding the apparent validity which reached for the former (85.7%) according to experts opinion and for the latter (83.8%). While, reliability was calculated using the retesting method which reached (0.76) for self-consciousness and (0.82) for self-security. The three scales were applied on the subjects of the specimen in 40 days. To process the data, the researcher used Pearson correlation coefficient , T-test and Point by Serial Equation. The results showed that the subjects of the specimen enjoyed a high level of social behaviour. Also, the results showed the presence of a a negative statistically significant relationship between the social behaviour and self-consciousness. But, concerning the relationship of social behaviour with the self-consciousness components, the results were as follows: the relationship of the social behaviour with the private selfconsciousness was negative but insignificant, while its relationship with the public self-consciousness, was positive but insignificant. Moreover, the relationship between the social behaviour with social anxiety, was negative but significant. The relationship between the social behaviour and the insecurity was negative but significant i.e. when the social behaviour increases, the security increases. The results also revealed that the social behaviour according to gender is for the sake of males and ٣ according to the study specialization (scientific and humanitarian) was for the sake of humanitarian study. In the light of the results, the researcher recommended the necessity of supporting the different syllabuses and various activities which induce the social behaviour and research for better means which can contribute in their improvement, development and make them useful for students with high level of social behaviour to lead different social activities inside and outside the university. Also, the researcher recommended conducting a similar study in other studying stages.
