Abstract
The present study aims to identify the following: 1. Emotional sympathy level among college students. 2. Personal impact level among college students. 3. The correlation between the emotional sympathy and the personal impact among college students. 4. The significant difference in the correlation between the future thinking and the self-awareness according to the variables of sex ( male and female) and specialization (scientific and humanitarian). The sample of the study consists of 400 students (male and female) chosen randomly from the colleges of education from the two specialization (scientific and humanitarian). To achieve the aims, the researcher constructs two scales one of them is foe the emotional sympathy based on the concept of (Hoffman, 2000) and the other is for the personal impact based on the concept of (Vickers, Bavister, smith,2011) among college students. The scale of emotional sympathy consists of 23 items. The researcher verified its face and construct validity then verifying its reliability by using re-test method which read (0.81) and by using Alfa- Cronbach (0.83). Concerning the tool of the personal impact, the scale consists of 26 items. The researcher verified its face and construct validity then verifying its reliability by using T-test method which read (0.80) and by using Alfa- Cronbach (0.82). After processing the data statistically using T-test for one sample, dual variance analysis, Pearson correlation coefficient, T-test for two independent samples, z-test, Alfa-Cronbach equation, the following results are reached: 1.College students have high emotional sympathy. 2.There is a statistically significant difference in emotional sympathy in relation to sex variable in favor of females and C C there is no statistically significant difference in relation to specialization . 3.College students have high personal impact. 4.There is no statistically significant difference in personal impact in relation to sex and there is a statistically significant difference in relation to specialization variable in favor of humanitarian one. 5.There is a positive correlation between the emotional sympathy and the personal impact among college students. 6.The difference in the correlation study between the two variables is not significant according to the sex variable and significant according to the specialization variable in favor of specialization. In the light of the results obtained, specific suggestions and recommendations are put forward by the researcher
