Abstract
The current research aimed to identify The effect of a counseling program based on counseling in reality to develop the willpower of university students. In order to verify this objective, the following null hypotheses were derived: A- There are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (05.0) between the average grades of the experimental group students before and after applying the realistic counseling program according to the willpower scale . B - There are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (05.0) between the average ranks of the experimental group's scores and the average ranks of the control group's scores in the post-test according to the willpower scale . C- The size of the effect caused by the independent variable (the indicative program) on the dependent variable (willpower) among university students . . For the purpose of testing the research hypotheses, the researcher chose the experimental design (the design of the experimental group and the control group with two tests, pre and post tests). The research sample consisted of (27) male and female students from the third stage in the Department of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance, students who obtained scores higher than the hypothetical average in the willpower scale. The hypothetical mean in the willpower scale, and the researcher chose (20) male and female students, and they were randomly distributed into two groups, an experimental and a control group The researcher prepared The researcher equalized the two groups with several variables, including (chronological age calculated in months, Raven's test of intelligence, willpower scale, gender). the willpower scale, which consisted of (27) items, as the researcher conducted a paragraph analysis by extracting the logical analysis (extracting virtual honesty) (statistical analysis of paragraphs) (constructive validity) and stability by re-testing and the (Alpha-Cronbach) equation for the scale and used indicators Statistical willpower scale (hypothetical and arithmetic mean, median, mode, standard deviation, variance, skewness, kurtosis, range) building an indicative program according to the model (Board rice and dari) and includes the following steps: (Determining and identifying students’ needs, writing the Abstract C program’s goals and objectives, Drafting session titles, selecting and implementing program activities, evaluating the program’s efficiency. The counseling program consisted of (8) counseling sessions. The topics of the sessions were chosen in the light of the paragraphs of the willpower scale, and the duration of each session was (45) minutes, and each session had its own behavioral objectives and guiding techniques according to the realistic counseling theory of (Glasser) with two sessions per session. The validity of the counseling program was verified after presenting it to a group of arbitrators and specialists in the field of psychological counseling and educational guidance. The research reached the following results: 1- There are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group members in the pre and post tests on the willpower scale after applying the counseling program, and this difference is in favor of the post test . 2-There are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group and the control group in the post test on the willpower scale after applying the counseling program in favor of the experimental group . 3-The (realistic) counseling program also proved to have a significant impact on the development of willpower, as the effect size was (2,186), which is a large value compared to the value indicated by Cohen. As well as the size of the effect of the program using the Eta square (0.68), which has a high impact for the experimental group . In light of the research results, the researcher recommended a set of recommendations and suggestions .
