Background: Health informatics provides many tools in order to improve healthcare efficiency. The communication technologies channel is one of the effective ways for patients' care towards disease prevention or monitoring. Electronic personalized health records [e-PHR] have been considered as tools or software for self-monitoring or self- management care which focus on prevention by continuously monitoring the patient's care. Objective: Proposed self-monitoring tools for treatment and management of patients with COVID-19. Methods: The cross review for related existing studies have been conducted to explain the rationale on how the current e-PHR can be improved and designed for patients with COVID-19. This is followed by reviewing, comparing the existing studies in terms of different approaches and concepts with the certain outcomes including making research recommendations Results: The e-PHR workflow has been present and the treatment recommendation related to patients with COVID-19 and expected has been explained including the summaries of improvement related to current e-PHR designed. Conclusions: Patients with COVID-19 have been considered critical and require prompt action and treatment especially for those with chronic illness. e-PHR may be able to assist in the detection and monitoring of this virus rapidly. The personalized health record which has been present in e-PHR might help the patient obtain the right treatment to the right patient at the right time as there are many pharmacological therapies considered for the treatment of COVID-19.
